Our Counsellors

Chelsea Pilling, MA, RCC

Chelsea is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#6888) and a member in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She completed a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Criminology from the University of the Fraser Valley, and a Masters of Counselling Psychology Degree from the Adler School of Professional Psychology.

Since 2006 she has worked in a variety of counselling settings with children, youth, families and adults. These include, home based autism programs, hospitals, mental health clinics, correctional facilities and non profit agencies. In addition to private practice, she works as a full time Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician. She is also an approved provider for the Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP).

Chelsea thoroughly enjoys working with individuals and families to help them achieve their personal goals while creating a greater sense of happiness and fulfillment in their lives. She has enjoyed many years of working with pre teens and teenagers both individually and with their parents to help establish a deeper understanding of each other and a sense of mutual respect and caring that seems to “disappear” all too often during these difficult years. The sense of connection and attachment between parent and child is special and often feels strained at some point during the developmental process. She strives to help family members reconnect with each other and create new, healthier ways of interacting with one another.

Chelsea aims to provide a warm, caring and compassionate space to express yourself and feel heard. No two people are alike and no two counselling sessions are alike either. She works with her clients to formulate mutually agreed upon goals and work together towards the changes YOU would like to see in your life, not what she/others expect to see. She strives to understand you and to be able to provide you with what you feel you need.

Whether you want to improve your relationship you have with someone and change the existing dynamic or you would like some individual services to help address personal issues you are struggling with, Chelsea is more than happy to consult over the phone so you can determine whether this would be a good fit for you.

First and foremost, thank you for your interest in Clarity Counselling Group. Deciding that it is the right time to ask for help in some area of your life can be a challenging enough process -let alone finding a counsellor or mediator with whom you feel comfortable enough to share your story.  It is my belief that training as a counsellor is a life-long process that does not end.  I have a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, a certificate from the Justice Institute of British Columbia in Family Mediation and over 12 years of experience in working with youth, adults and families who are wanting to improve their lives.  I am also a member in good standing with the BC Arbitration and Mediation Institute.

As a counsellor and mediator, I am known for creating an environment where clients feel comfortable, safe, and welcomed to be themselves, without judgement. When any client comes to see me, that is the most important first step. It is your right to feel comfortable with your counsellor or mediator.  That is why at Clarity Counselling Group we always give you options at the very first contact you have with us. You are welcome to call or email me for a free consultation to help you get a sense of whether working together would be a good fit for you and your needs.  From there, I can help you to develop a plan for where you want your counselling to go and what some of your options are.

My work with clients is in a variety of areas.  I work with couples and families who are seeking to make life together happier and more rewarding, adults in a variety of areas, and children and teens who are challenged to overcome complicated events in their lives.  I also specialize in working with parents who are wanting to develop stronger relationships with their children while managing challenging behaviour.    I am also happy to provide mediation services at Clarity Counselling Group.   If you are facing a separation or divorce or a conflict in the workplace or elsewhere, I encourage you to give me a call to discuss mediation and take a look at whether this option might be a good fit for your situation.  See our Mediation page for more information.
Another service I offer is facilitation of both groups and trainings or workshops.  I work directly with businesses, schools and non-profit organizations.  If you have questions about this, please feel free to be in touch.
Perhaps you’re not entirely sure what exactly you’re seeking counselling for -maybe you just know something doesn’t feel right in your life and you want to see if you can get a sense of what that something is in order to get past it.  Many people come to counselling feeling that way.  It is OK to start there.
Feel free to contact me by phone, email, text or through the contact page of our website. I look forward to hearing from you and getting started.
